GUCC Feeding Program

Mobile Restaurant

In a study by the Cleveland Clinic, poor eating habits can increase your risk of chronic diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease, and impact your mental and intellectual health.  What you eat directly affects the structure and function of your brain.  A study at Harvard Medical School found that processed foods and foods high in refined sugars have a negative effect on brain function and mental health.  The goal of this program is to seek out those in need and try to help meet those needs.

  • Having healthy meals is essential. The Mobile Restaurant’s design will allow us to handle issues of homelessness in real-time with space inside the truck for administrative procedures.
  • Garden with fruits and vegetables in order to offer organic healthy meals to those we serve on a daily basis.

The Helping Hand Project

The Benevout Community Service Corporation wants to lend a helping hand not give a hand out.  Our vision is to help those who are trying to help themselves, but for reasons out of their control or the lack of mental fortitude, they have not been able to come up no matter how they have tried.  Our program offers the needed resources to teach skills that will assist in making those life decisions.

Efficiency Care Home Project

Builds tiny homes for transitional living.  Our focus is first to the working homeless, military, youth, women, men.  This program teaches budgeting, banking, job readiness, life skills, home maintenance, and gardening.  One year program with a three year follow up before completely exiting the program.  We feel this will offer certain comforts and support for those who are transitioning from our program to independent living.

Blight Permanent Housing Program

This program will help in more than one way.  The plan for this part of the project is to reduce homelessness and blight within our communities.  The organization will secure blighted homes and restore them for habitation.  These homes will then be used to house those who are ready to transition to independent living.  The program is designed to monitor these participants once a quarter for the first year after exiting the program to determine if any needed training or assistance is required.

Housing Assistance Program

This program includes housing assistance to help clients avoid homelessness.  It will assist with housing deposits, rent, and other needed items to remain in independent accommodations.  The Housing Assistance Program lends a helping hand to those who have already started the process of housing accommodations but found themselves short of completing the needed requirements to finalize those accommodations.

Training Program

is offered to help assist in job readiness and life skills.
